Hello, my fellow friends and peers! My name is Shadman (he/him) and I am a first-year Computer Science student. I was born and raised here in New York City, making me a true blue American. My parents, on the other hand, are from Bangladesh, making me a first-generation Bangladeshi American. I can speak English and a little bit of Bengali–however, be warned, it’s not the greatest. I have a lot of interests in life, ranging from learning about history to video editing to building things. In my spare time, I love to learn about small bits of trivia, watch movies and TV shows, and play video games. Some of my favorite movies include Fight Club (yes, I know, I’m not supposed to talk about it), The Dark Knight Trilogy, Interstellar, and Inception. As you can probably tell, I love Christopher Nolan films. Some TV shows I love are Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Breaking Bad, and Arcane. Some video games that I enjoy playing include Red Dead Redemption 2, God of War, Marvel Rivals, and Minecraft. My favorite books are Freak the Mighty and Flowers of Algernon, as those books resonated with me the most, especially the characters. When it comes to writing, something I struggle with is vocabulary and using it to enhance my writing. I want to be able to sound sophisticated while also keeping my reader entertained (well, as much as possible). I hope to improve that in this course as well as make my writing as concise as possible.
